Day 3 Mon Nov 28  Today was a much better travel day, bright and sunny with about half the traffic as yesterday. Gas was $3.09 for reg and $4.99 for diesel. We drove thru Tennessee into Georgia to a state park for 1 night. The sites are very large and have water, electric and a fire pit. The showers were adequate and close by. There are only about 15 sites but the park has 2 lakes and many trails. The temps today were up to 63 and very pleasant.  We saw several dead coyotes on the side of the highway along with some deer. Tomorrow we move to another state park down nearer Fort Benning for the next 4 nights, Liz will arrive by plane and drive down to meet up with us. Here are some pictures from today…

Day 2 Nov 27 390 miles today 12mpg

So today was not a good driving day, we filled the tank and got on the highway at 7:15 and rite off there was a tractor trailer in front of us and 3 cars passing  and the TT sharply turns the wheel barely in time before missing the exit and made it whew that was close!!!! but we continued crossing into Maryland,West Virginia and Virginia. it started to rain very hard off and on and during the day there were 4 accidents up ahead of us and we were stuck in bumper to bumper very slow and stopped traffic BUT we were not involved yay. John is a very good driver so he got us here in Wytheville Virginia.  I didn’t take many pictures today but here are a couple. Tomorrow we will be in Georgia ...

Day one 380 miles first night at Jonestown Hershey KOA Jonestown PA. this is the only campground we have found open year round this far north. We have full hookups and a pull through site a bathhouse and a store. We de-winterized as daytime temps are predicted to be in the 50s and tonight only down to 34 but with the heat on we will be all set so now we can run water and use the plumbing. The campground is about 3/4 full with all sizes and shapes- campers that is the folks next to us are from Quebec and are headed to Texas.  This was a great uneventful travel day bright and sunny and light traffic. Gas is close to $ 4.00/gal for regular and $6.24 for diesel so glad we didn’t buy that diesel truck! We connected with nomad friends who are in LA and we plan to meet them at Big Bend National Park in a couple of weeks, it’s nice to have friends out here on the road, there are thousands of nomads many who have sold their homes to live on the road, we cannot imagine what it would be like not
